Chicago Bears 2011 Draft Grading and Overview

Well, now that the 2011 draft has reach and gone, it Is a perfect time to wreck it all down and peep at unprejudiced what the Chicago Bears were able to effect, and probably most importantly, the things that the Chicago Bears were unable to effect.

1 - Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin (6-7, 314)

Gabe Carimi is a solid first round occupy. The Bears were a leader in the league last year when it came to Quarterback Sacks so it has to be seen as an vital go to launch re-tooling our offensive line. Serving as the Bears first rob in the draft - 29th overall - Gabe Carimi is a sizable first step in fixing up our beaten down offensive line. The Bears were lucky that Gabe fell a number of spots in the first round allowing the Bears to purchase him up. As a player, we like Gabe's visible mean trot. In terms of experience, Gabe has been a four year starter for the Wisconsin Badgers NCAA football team. He is projected to originate the season at honest tackle this year, however he possesses the ability to be a long term swing tackle, and maybe even a solid left tackle after some NFL development has taken state. Grade: B+

2- Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon station (6-1, 303)

Stephen Paea is a monster. He recently status the all time bench press portray at the NFL scouting combine with 49 bench press reps at 225 pounds. Paea should also be a first year starter which will be something the Bears need due to the unusual departure of venerable defensive tackle Tommie Harris. Once again, the Bears are building this team from the trenches up. Grade: B

3 - Chris Conte, S, California (6-2, 197)

Chris Conte is a free safety out of Cal with top kill urge but a fairly noticeable lack of experience. He is a newcomer to the safety location. He will probably launch out as the third safety on the depth chart, and quite possibly the free safety slow Chris Harris and Major Wright. A corner might have been a better choice for the Bears as there are a bunch of aid up grade safeties already on the team. Grade: C

5 - Nathan Enderle, QB, Idaho (6-4, 240)

Nathan is one of the all time best quarterbacks in Idaho history. That may not be saying considerable. He has spacious time NFL size and will be a fit in the NFL from a physical and composition stand point. Grade: C+

6 - J.T. Thomas, OLB, West Virginia (6-1, 241)

J.T. is a talented OLB who has shown a strong leadership ability throughout his college career. The Bears have always had a deep roster at the LB spot, but it is also positive that Urlacher, Briggs and Tinoisamoa are not the youngest linebacker group in the league. It will be distinguished for the Bears to support their LB core in development. Grade: B.

Final Draft Grade: B-. The bears could have venerable some relieve at receiver (a enormous target for instance) and the WR place was the one station they failed to address via this draft. Also, while it is well-known to retain QB's in the pipeline, it is hard to understand the need for a 5th round QB hold as the Bears have a strong and somewhat experienced attend up in Caleb Hanie. Carimi and Paea should be productive starters and with all the needs on this Bears roster, there are only so many draft day moves to be made. survey for the Bears to address their WR residence via free agency. We cheer on these modern players as they establish on their official Chicago Bears Draft Day Hats and strap it on for the season.
