Fantasy Basketball Sleeper & Bust of the Week

One of the of the guards that may have not been selected so high in drafts in recent years that you definitely go after this year is Louis Williams.

Louis Williams is a 6'2 athletic freak, who has the ability to contribute in every category especially scoring, assists, and steals. We will soon find out where Louis will be playing in the coming season. If he does end up in Golden State, taking over the point guard duties that were abandoned by FANTASY stud Baron Davis, then expect Williams to sky rocket into the upper echelon of fantasy guards. I believe given the proper playing time, and given a long enough leash, which he is rarely given by the constant over coaching of Maurice Cheeks, Williams will flourish. Imagine a fast break with Williams and Ellis dishing and finishing and vice versa. In Golden State, where I hope he will land, he will be a top 10 guard in fantasy land. If he remains in Philly he will be a spark plug off the bench as the heavily overrated Andre Miller continues to take minutes away from the developing Williams. I expect his scoring average to go up around 14-18 ppg, assists to 4, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Not a bad pick for a guy that can also get hot and give you 30 points on any given night. Watch out for Williams to become a FANTASY stud in the near future, expect the development of a fantasy stud and and future all star to take a big step this year. Grab him if you can. If you get him, you will be pleased with the results and you can thank me!!

Beware of Steve Nash the slower offense (It is painful to watch Shaq, similar to watching Mike Tyson as he was on the decline) and the lack of shooters around Steve will be the demise of this former walking double double. His assists numbers will be back in the single digits for the first time since the 2003-04 season when he was still with the Dallas Mavericks. I expect Nash to still be a top 2nd tier point guard (The top tier is head and shoulders above the rest of the league and it consists of Chris Paul and Deron Williams) and one of the top ten in assists, but his scoring and his assists will drop drastically, making his defensive liabilities a little harder to deal with and exposing his non existence in other categories. Nash will still have value just don't expect the things that we have seen from him since the 2004-2005 season when he won his first MVP.
